Time is your most valuable resource in a medical crisis. It’s more precious than money, and you can never get it back. In the chaos of a health crisis, a few minutes can mean the difference between a full recovery and permanent damage. But what happens when you waste those precious minutes just trying to find the right facility?
The “Second Crisis”: Getting to the Wrong Place Imagine a loved one clutches their chest in pain. You rush them to the nearest hospital, hoping for the best. Upon arrival, you’re met with a chilling reality: the hospital lacks a Cath Lab to perform an immediate angioplasty. You’ve wasted critical time and must now face the terrifying prospect of moving them again. The same panic happens with a snakebite. You get to a well-equipped hospital, but they don’t have the specific anti-venom required.
These scenarios are a heartbreaking reality for many families in India. The current system forces you to make a decision in the dark. A hospital may have beds, but if it doesn’t have a Stroke Protocol for a brain bleed or a Pediatric Specialist for a child in distress, you are losing valuable time. This lack of transparency is a silent threat.
Our Solution: The Veer Hospital Capability Index
This is why we are building the Veer Hospital Capability Database. Our mission is to provide a single, public, and verified resource that gives you the critical information you need when you need it most. It’s not just a list of hospitals; it’s a specialized index that tells you what a hospital is truly equipped to handle.
Through the Veer platform, we empower you to see which facilities have:
- On-call Specialist Surgeons.
- The ability to administer Thrombolysis (clot-busting) for strokes.
- Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) facilities.
- Specific Anti-venom or specialized trauma support.
Our Vision: Mapping Every Lifeline in India We are starting in Bengaluru to build and verify this critical public resource. Our team is dedicated to compiling this data so that no family has to face the “Second Crisis” of reaching the wrong facility.
But our mission doesn’t stop here. We believe this data is a public good. Our long-term goal is to extend this project across the country, ensuring that every citizen has access to verified information on where to find the right help, the first time.
How We Use This Data This database isn’t just a directory—it is the intelligence behind the Veer App. When you call a Veer responder, they use this data to ensure you aren’t just going to the nearest hospital, but the right hospital for your specific situation.
