This Medico-Legal Disclaimer governs the use of the urgent medical guidance and responder services provided by Veer Care Pvt. Ltd. (hereafter referred to as “Veer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the Veer mobile application or website, you acknowledge and accept the terms of this disclaimer.
1. Nature of Services: Triage and Guidance
Veer provides platform-based Urgent Medical Triage and immediate guidance. Our services are designed to assist users in the critical window before a patient reaches a physical healthcare facility.
- Intermediary Platform: Veer is a technology provider. The medical advice given during a video call is provided by independent Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) or trained responders.
- Not a Replacement for Physical Care: Virtual guidance is an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, in-person clinical examination, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. Implied Consent for Tele-Triage
In accordance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines (2020) issued by the National Medical Commission of India:
- By initiating a request for guidance via the Veer App, the User provides Implied Consent for a virtual consultation.
- The User acknowledges that virtual triage has inherent limitations, including the inability to perform a physical examination. The guidance provided is based entirely on the visual and verbal information shared by the User.
3. Accuracy and User Responsibility
The effectiveness of the guidance depends solely on the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of the information you provide. Veer and its responders are not liable for:
- Inaccurate guidance resulting from omitted or incorrect facts.
- Fluctuations in the patient’s condition that occur after the call has concluded.
- Technical failures (internet connectivity, video quality) that may impede the practitioner’s ability to assess the situation.
4. Limitation of Liability: “The Golden Bridge”
Veer Care Pvt. Ltd., its founders, and employees act as a support bridge to formal medical care. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Veer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages, injuries, or clinical outcomes arising from the use of the platform.
- Factors beyond our control—including urban traffic congestion, weather, or the inherent progression of a medical condition—may affect responder arrival times or patient outcomes. Veer provides “best-effort” response and does not guarantee specific clinical results.
5. Mandatory Emergency Clause
Veer is NOT a primary Emergency Management Service (EMS). In any life-threatening situation (e.g., cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, severe respiratory distress), the User is strictly advised to simultaneously contact government emergency services (102/108) or transport the patient to the nearest Hospital Emergency Room. Veer’s guidance is intended to support the User until such professional physical care is accessed.
6. Professional Accountability
All medical advice is provided by professionals acting in their individual capacity as Registered Medical Practitioners or certified responders. Any grievances regarding clinical advice must be addressed to the specific practitioner. Veer Care Pvt. Ltd. maintains records of all interactions to facilitate such reviews as per Indian law.
